For this you will need USB-SDCARD WIZARD installed

1.~ From the kodi home screen click > ADD-ONS > PROGRAM ADD-ONS
2.~ Click BACKUP RESTORE WIZARD > you will see a message “YOU HAVE NOT SET YOUR STORAGE PATH-SET STORAGE PATH NOW?”
3.~ Click YES to the message
4.~ Click CHOOSE USB/SDCARD DESTINATION> EXTERNAL STORAGE > DOWNLOAD > click OK on the right
NOTE: At this point if you want to save your BACKUP to a USB STICK or SD CARD then browse to that destination
4a.~ PC USERS > C DRIVE > USERS > YOUR USER NAME > DESKTOP > BROWSE TO A FOLDER YOU MADE FOR THE BACKUP TO GO INTO > click OK on the right
5.~ Then click OK again > BACKUP > FULL BACKUP
You now have your kodi backed up, your backup is in your DOWNLOAD folder (or wherever you saved it) and is called backup.zip

Usually, the users of Kodi use it for streaming movies and TV shows, so they can watch their favorite content online. A less known feature but an externally useful one is to download the content to your local storage. This has huge advantages, as you can watch it at any time without buffering issues or searching for working sources. You don’t even need an internet connection available.
Here is how to download movies and TV shows with the Exodus Redux add-on or add-ons which are Exodus forks:
This part should be done only when you want to enable this feature or when you want to change the directories where the movies and TV shows are downloaded to.
- Launch Kodi
- Click Add-on
- Click Video add-ons
- Hover over Exodus Redus or add-ons which are Exodus forks
- Click the menu button
- Click Settings
- Hover over Playback
- Change the Set Auto-play, Directory or Dialog field to Directory
- Hover over Downloads
- Click Enable downloads to enable it
- Click Movies, choose the directory where you want the movies to be stored and click OK
- Click TV, choose the directory where you want the TV shows to be stored and click OK
- Click OK to save the settings
Here is how to download movies and TV shows with the Fen add-on:
For Fen it is easier because the configuration is ready for downloading, but you can change the directories where the movies and TV shows are downloaded to. This part should be done only if you want to change them.
- Launch Kodi
- Click Add-on
- Click Video add-ons
- Hover over Fen
- Click the menu button
- Click Settings
- Hover over Downloads
- Click Movies Directory, choose the directory where you want the movies to be stored and click OK
- Click TV Shows Directory, choose the directory where you want the TV shows to be stored and click OK
- Click OK to save the settings
If you keep the default value for the Movies Directory field, you will find the downloaded movies in Android in one of the following directories:
- [data/sdcard/Android]/data/org.xbmc.kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.fen/Movies Downloads
- /sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.fen/Movies Downloads
- /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.fen/Movies Downloads
For every movie or TV show you want to download, you need to do the following:

- Select the movie or TV show you want to download, so the list of sources shows up. Choose one of the sources and click the menu button
- Click Download at the menu
- A popup appears with the downloaded video name and size, click Confirm
- You will get a message periodically with the download progress in percentages. Once the download is completed a popup appears indicating that it was successful.
- The video will be stored under the directory you chose

After downloading, you can watch the video with Kodi or use your favorite media player.
